Any human of average intelligence knows that in any religion man

It is not the entire Islam religion who has convicted 
Americans and wish to punish them.  It is simply a power hungry

limited bit about the religion.  However, I do know that in

UNICEF has been all but shut down by the Taliban -- tons of food 
are not going to make it to the populace. Why are the Taliban 
going to slowly slaughter their own people for the sake of one 
man? Does Allah like the thought of his clerics killing their own

The Taliban have changed Afganistan into a large sewer and they 
do this in the name of Allah.

I don't know about this Allah diety -- he must be some really 
nasty, vengeful, dictatorial, draconian psychotic. Probably the 
same Allah the guided the crusades of past -- yes, I am pointing 
at Christianity.

I pity the poor Musliams that are going to die -- the innocent

Before anyone has the chance to poke a hole at this, Yes, America 
has made it's mistakes, but we have the integrity to stand up and 
say we screwed up.  So far, the Taliban are claiming the moral

country and their own people.

I don't have all the answers, or indeed, any of the answers, but 
I know what I am going to do.  I am going to be married on 
October 6, and on October 7 my husband and I and several friends 
are going to New York to pay homage.  I plan to lay my bridal 
bouquet near the site, to show that we are grateful to have 
lived to enjoy our wedding day.  I think we will be grateful for 
a long time to come that we had the opportunity to live even one 
day longer than those that died in the attack.

I hear of whining and crying about being persecuted and 
harassed, but have any of these groups come out and let the

There have been alot of all our religions' clerics explaining 
that bin Laden had bastardized the Koran and they have denounced 
him.  I've been watching Fox news.  They've been interviewing 
quite a few of the "higher up" Islamic clerics.  They have all 
agreed and have tried to explain that the Koran has 
been "twisted" by bin Laden  and that "Islam" means "Peace".  At 
least that's what I got out of it.  He's nothing but a

It's true that the western world has not only freedom but also 
corruption, but at least we are not barbarians. Beacuse, e.g.,  
we make no genital mutilations to young girls to make them to be

these sanctions is to comply with the United Nations 
resolutions.  Iraq attacked it's neighbor Kuwait and slaughtered 
many, many people.  Iraq at the time had the fourth largest 
military in the world, after Hitler the United Nations tends to 
watch out for it's allies, and Kuwait is an ally.  Some of the 
basic things that Iraq is not complying with deals directly with 
them building weapons of mass destruction.  Before a country 
should be allowed to build such weapons it should first be able 
to feed and support all its people. Obviously Iraq continues to 
build weapons and research nuclear technology while neglecting 
its own people thats the true evil at work here.  I also do not 
wish for any child to die anywhere but Iraq must comply for the 
sanctions to be lifted.

Yes i do realise that america does supply aid to many struggling 
countries. And yes i do believe that America has done a lot of 
good for the world. But so have many other countries. In my 
country we can hardly afford to look affter our own, Yet still 
send $ and Food to help the less fortunate. Our military force 
goes into countries not as a force but as relief workers and 
medical care. They dont even carry guns. (Peace keepers) is the

America was the best because it was made in America. The pride of 
accomplishment and innovation was Americas greatest attribute. In 
many ways it still is. However, our innovation has given way to 
the bottom line for big business, putting Americans out of work. 
Yet, the innovation of Americans is what keeps America alive. 
Although, I would say if Americans feel everything in America is 
better, they should take a look at how many products it imports, 
I say give credit where credit is due.  I love Armenian brandy, I 
love German beer, I drive a Ford even if it was made by Koreans, 
and I love my American made electric razor, you get the picture. 
I find it sad because America used to make everything for its 
people. "Made in Japan" or "Made in China" used to be a joke, now 
who's laughing?  Even our good food has given way to what I call 
air-food, no substance.  Doctors are against preventative 
medicene if affects their pocketbook. It actually costs more to 
eat healthy then it does to eat poorly. I can remember when there 
were actually more skinny people than fat and overweight people.  
The greatness of America, to me, as I said before, in its ability 
to correct its mistakes, to rethink itself, even to reinvent 
itself. Look at all the different races, ethnic groups and 
religions we embrace in America.  Take for instance, Viet Nam.  
The people stopped it, not our government, the government 
responded after years of deaf ears.  We can vote out our despots, 
can you?  And America did put on trial those who did murder 
innocent people.  Now, we are beginning to embrace our former 
enemies in Viet Nam regardless of their politics.  Terrorism is a 
crime against humanity. Not unlike Hitler and the Nazis.  It 
threatens the stability of the whole world.  It must be stopped.  
Yes, America has its dark moments, but they have corrected 
themselves over and over again. Unfortunately America will 
continue to make mistakes.  America's world partners have the 
right to ask America to enable them to stand against their 
enemies and unfortunatley, innocent people get killed on both 
sides.  Now, because of technology, war can be more precise in 
its killing of those we are actually fighting. Morbid yes, but 
that is how concerned America is in  preventing the death of 
innocents.  How concerned was Sadam in Iraq about the killing of 
of his people. He used them as a shield, he even gassed some of 
his countrymen. The terrorists have no declaration of war except 
to kill innocent people and then they hide.  If they are so 
righteous, let them come out of the darkness into the light to be 
seen.  America is only protecting themselves, that is the issue 
now. Not its past sins.
In this fight, the people are now supporting the decisions of 
government to wage war. Not the other way around.  In closing, I 
applaud your country in its efforts to relieve pain, but if your 
country is involved in supporting terrorism, I hope good people 
in your country will stand against it.  Now, more than ever 
before, I believe in the greatness of America in this fight, 
right or wrong.  If your people are saying, "down with America" 
then they might as well be saying it about every nation against

Every country is different and every country has those who have 
more pride.  Depending on where you go and who you talk to its 
gonna be different every single time.  That is the beauty of

Found a pamphlet in the trunk of an old car several years ago.
 The text was mostly written in what appeared to be Arabic.
 Some writing was in English and said something to the effect;
   "How to get U.S. Government jobs and acquire plutonium"
 The folks I was with looked at it and laughed, it was just
 a joke, or a threat which could never possibly happen, right?
   The pamphlet was lost or discarded somewhere, but it had an

Where do you live and where do your kids go to school?

As an American and a Christian I have my views of the world that 
are not necessarily in agreement with other Americans. I for 
one do not practice religion, for me Christianity is a 
relationship with Christ and Father God as expressed in the 
Bible. Foul language, name calling, hate and disrespect for 
others, no matter their origin is not becoming to God or to 
anyone who embraces it.  What is happening to us by these new 
enemies of America is happening because we do not totally 
understand what balance has been broken.  America is a mighty 
nation worthy of respect in war, it is also worthy of respect 
because we are forgiving after war, America has restored each 
country that we had victory over.  When we have victory over 
Terrorism, it my hope that these people will realize it is better 
to be friends then it is to be enemies.  We are the only nation 
that "will not" allow religion to govern our people.  It seems to 
me that the nations who inflict their religion upon others and do 
not repect each others diversity are only asking for trouble.  If 
the religions of the middle eastern nations would only realize 
this they would all be at peace with each other and with America. 
 One reason America is strong is because, as a whole, we respect 
each person and their diversity and culture.
I am very angry at what has happened, I am also very pleased that 
Americans are finally coming together.  Let us come together for 
the right reasons, to have victory over an evil that is plagueing 
America and the world. Not all Muslim people are to blame, only a 
minority of fanatics who have mislead others to this violence.  
Remember when America blamed all Japanese Americans and put them 
in camps. Many of these people defended our country with great 
valor.  I am sure when Muslim Americans are called, they will 
defend our country too.  By the way, there are other individuals 
using "An American", it is not me. I don't share UnAmerican

citizen, then yes, I am ashamed of our country.  You spout 
freedom, but don't want to take the responsibility that goes 
along with it:  i.e. educating yourselves.  You blame the 
Afghani people and don't even bother to recognize the fact that 
their country has been taken over by others...ever hear of the 
Northern Alliance?  You know, those people in Afghanistan that 
have been fighting to rid their country of the Taliban and it's 
repressive regime?  (do you even know what 'regime' means?)

Learn how to spell...learn how to read...do a little research so

Yes, he WAS trained by the C.I.A. and was given money to operate

Another fact is, a lot of military experts agree that no 
civilian pilot could pull that stunt with a 747. So the Arabic 
guys you see on TV, that went to a flight school for a month 
probably have nothing to do with this.

US wants to go and bomb Afganistan. They demand Bin Laden to be 
handed over. Don't they know Islam?
Bin Laden is a quest in Afganistan. It is not in islamic 
traditions to get your quest killed. Afgans/Pakistanes or 
whatever would gladly hand him over to a US-independed court of 
justice, but there isn't one, because US vetowed it's project.
I am no Einstein, but it seems to me, that there are a lot of 
not too bright people on both sides of the fence at the moment 
making not too bright decisions.

Simply put, this is getting out of hand.  What has started out 
as plain and simple jealousy has become the quest of a religious 
zealot followed by people whose judgement comes from poverty and 
hopelessness.  Granted, most of what I've learned has comed from 
news and net over the last couple of weeks, but the jist seems 
to be that the "leaders" following Osama are nothing more than 
children of a impovrished country with enough education to think 
that they can not effect change for good in their country, but 
lead it and gain personal power for themselves.  Jealousy, which 
is one of the vices spoken of in the Bible, is a very strong 
motive for murder.  We're talking about a country that has less 
phone lines (primitive service I might add) in their entire 
country than possibly in one of our average cities here in the 
US.  They don't have the technology, education, or resources to 
get themselves out of the depressive state of poverty that 
controls their every day life.  Also remember, this Osama was 
banished from his own country and was so bored with being rich 
that he used his family's wealth to influence his way into this 
poor country and infiltrated their hierarchy by promises of a 
better life and wealth if they would just suffer up for his 
cause.  This is no more a "holy war" than it is a simple street 
fight between two kids on opposite sides of the tracks.  The 
street person stealing food in the name of hunger.  It is hard 
to focus rage into something positive to effect change, but easy 
to strike at those who do not have those same obstacles barring 
them from success.  To suggest this is a "holy war" mandated by 
God is simply fuel to the fire of a dying and oppressed people; 
oppressed spiritually, politically, monitarily, educationally, 
the list goes on.  

When someone has lost everything and has nothing left but 
himself, he has God.  That is a simple belief at the core of 
whatever religion worships whatever God.  If all you have is 
your religion, how easy then for someone to bastardize those 
beliefs into a campaign of terror?  All through history, those 
who are lost and without purpose seek just one person with 
focus, whether it be for the common and greater good or serving 
vicious self-interests, and follow.  This is a fact that I 
believe is too easily overlooked by American journalism.

I assert that the those who abandon God's direction in such a 
perverse manner as was shown the world on the 11th of September 
will know soon enough the wrath not of God, but of others now 
called to a higher purpose of defense of our great nation, the 
United States of America.  The name says it all...U-N-I-T-E-
D...we pick our leaders through a system which allows freedom of 
choice.  We are not blindly seeking leadership because we have 
the education and freedoms which allow us not to have to settle 
for the only thing around.  Its sad these people feel Osama and 
his bizarre behaviour is the best that they have and for that I 
pity them and the fate he has seeled for him in his zealous 
endeavors.

I thank God and my country every day for the joyous things in my 
life.  I am sorry that Afgani's and others in their region of 
the world is not so fortunate, but that is also something they 
must work out for themselves.  Unfortunately, a misguided few 
has brought their anger and destruction to our doorstep.  

Know that for as many "sleeper" agents as could possibly be in 
my country, know that there are those of us who can be 
considered the same.  If there were something that happened in 
my community that I can personally do, I will.  Without thought 
of personal injury, loss of life, or the like.  I would give my 
life for my country, my God, and my freedom.  

For those of you who aren't familiar with our history of 
Independence and Civil War, read up.  You might realize that the 
United States, however off guard we were caught on the 11th, are 
a determined people "...one nation, under God, indivisible..."

If you care for these people that you lead, Osama, leave them 
and allow peace to return to their land.  You can only bring 
them heartache and destruction for no enjoyment but of your 
own.  Whatever power you feel comes to you through this is only 
of earth and will surely pass.  You ask of others to die for 
their beliefs and the sake of their country, but you are not?  
You cower instead of taking up the call and giving your life for 
the same?  If it is true that if you were to die, 10 others 
would spring up in your place, wouldn't it be prudent to give up 
your life to give those 10 the chance to lead?

Or are you truly a rich little coward?
