retaliates against Afghanistan that it would begin a "Holy War". 
Well my, ill-informed friends, the Holy War has already begun. 
It began the minute a single drop of American Blood feel from 
the first victem of the acts of those you call friends. 
 You see, what you have failed to realize is that the one thing 
that all Americans hold sacred is human life. And the actions of 
your willful associates have awakened this nation to that single 
unifying priciple. Although we may pray to the divine in as many 
differrent aspects as there are Americans we ALL Value human 
life . You have managed to strengthen our resolve in to rid this 
world of the likes of the human periah that you have become you 
have embraced And you should make no mistake and thinking that 
you or your nation has ever seen anything like what is about to 
be unleased on you. If you think that your so called "Holy War" 
some how emboldens your would be soldiers to act in ways that 
would some how make them more successful, just imagine what the 
American soldier can do , knowing that this is indeed a Holy War 
for the preservation of the very humanity that the Divine has 
blessed each of us with. I fear for the innocents that will 
certainly perish in this undertaking , yet I know that the 
Natural Order of existance WILL be maintained and if that means 
erasing people such as yourselves from this earth than so be it.

Well, you hit the World Trade Center, but you missed America.

America isn't about a building or two, not about financial

about an IDEA. An idea, that you can go someplace where you 
can earn as much as you can figure out how to, live for the 
most part, like you envisioned living, and pursue Happiness. 

Go ahead and whine your terrorist whine, and chant your 
terrorist litany: "If you can not see my point, then feel my 
pain." This concept is alien to Americans. We live in a 
country where we don't have to see your point. But you're free 
to have one. We don't have to listen to your speech. But 
you're free to say one. Don't know where you got the strange 
idea that everyone has to agree with you. We don't agree with 
each other in this country, almost as a matter of pride. We're 
a collection of guys that don't agree, called States. We 
united our individual states to protect ourselves from tyranny 
in the world. Another idea, we made up on the spot. You CAN 
make it up as you go, when it's your country.

That's an unfortunate image to project to the world, but it

It's unfortunate too, because people start to forget that when

burned Washington D.C. to the ground. Didn't turn out like 
England thought it was going to, and it's not going to turn

the FIRST and so far, only country in the world to use nuclear 
weapons in anger. Horrific idea, nowadays? News for you bucko, 
it was back then too, but we used it anyway. Only had two of 
them in the whole world and we used 'em both. Grandpa Jones 
worked on the Manhattan Project. Told me once, that right up 
until they threw the switch, the physicists were still arguing 
over whether the Uranium alone would fission, or whether it 
would start a fissioning chain reaction that would eat 
everything. But they threw the switch anyway, because we had a 
War to win. Does that tell you something about American 
Resolve? 

So who just declared War on us? It would be nice to point to 
some real estate, like the good old days. Unfortunately, we're 
probably at war with random camps, in far-flung places. Who 
think they're safe. Just like the Barbary Pirates did, IIRC.

There's a spirit that tends to take over people who come to 
this country, looking for opportunity, looking for liberty,

Yesterday I heard a lot of talk about "bombing Afghanistan back 
to the
Stone Age." Ron Owens, on KGO Talk Radio allowed that this would 
mean
killing innocent people, people who had nothing to do with this
atrocity, but "we're at war, we have to accept collateral 
damage," and
he asked, "What else can we do? What is your suggestion?" 
Minutes later
I heard a TV pundit discussing whether we "have the belly to do 
what
must be done." And I thought about these issues especially hard 
because
I am from Afghanistan, and even though I've lived here for 35 
years I've
never lost track of what's been going on over there. So I want 
to share
a few thoughts with anyone who will listen.

I speak as one who hates the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. There 
is no
doubt in my mind that these people were responsible for the 
atrocity in
New York.  I fervently wish to see those monsters punished.  But 
the
Taliban and Bin Laden are not Afghanistan. They're not even the
government of Afghanistan.

The Taliban are a cult of ignorant psychotics who captured 
Afghanistan
in 1997 and have been holding the country in bondage ever since. 
Bin
Laden is a political criminal with a master plan.  When you think
Taliban, think Nazis. When you think Bin Laden, think Hitler. 
And when
you think "the people of Afghanistan" think "the Jews in the
concentration camps."  It's not only that the Afghan people had 
nothing
to do with this atrocity.  They were the first victims of the
perpetrators.  They would love for someone to eliminate the 
Taliban and
clear out the rats nest of international thugs holed up in their
country.  I guarantee it.  Some say, if that's the case, why 
don't the
Afghans rise up and overthrow the Taliban themselves? The answer 
is,
they're starved, exhausted, damaged, and incapacitated. A few 
years ago,
the United Nations estimated that there are 500,000 disabled 
orphans in
Afghanistan - a country with no economy, no food. Millions of 
Afghans
are widows of the approximately two million men killed during 
the war
with the Soviets. And the Taliban has been executing these women 
for
being women and has buried some of their opponents alive in mass 
graves.
The soil of Afghanistan is littered with land mines and almost 
all the
farms have been destroyed. The Afghan people have tried to 
overthrow the
Taliban. They haven't been able to.  We come now to the question 
of
bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age.  Trouble with that 
scheme is,
it's already been done.  The Soviets took care of it. Make the 
Afghans
suffer? They're already suffering. Level their houses? Done. 
Turn their
schools into piles of rubble? Done. Eradicate their hospitals? 
Done.
Destroy their infrastructure? There is no infrastructure.  Cut 
them off
from medicine and health care? Too late.  Someone already did 
all that.
New bombs would only land in the rubble of earlier bombs. Would 
they at
least get the Taliban? Not likely. In today's Afghanistan, only 
the
Taliban eat, only they have the means to move around. They'd 
slip away
and hide.  (They have already, I hear.) Maybe the bombs would 
get some
of those disabled orphans, they don't move too fast, they don't 
even
have wheelchairs. But flying over Kabul and dropping bombs 
wouldn't
really be a strike against the criminals who did this horrific 
thing.
Actually it would be making common cause with the Taliban-by 
raping once
again the people they've been raping all this time.

So what else can be done, then? Let me now speak with true fear 
and
trembling. The only way to get Bin Laden is to go in there with 
ground
troops. I think that when people speak of "having the belly to 
do what
needs to be done" many of them are thinking in terms of having 
the belly
to kill as many as needed. They are thinking about overcoming 
moral
qualms about killing innocent people. But it's the belly to die 
not kill
that's actually on the table. Americans will die in a land war 
to get
Bin Laden.  And not just because some Americans would die 
fighting their
way through Afghanistan to Bin Laden's hideout. It's much bigger 
than
that, folks. To get any troops to Afghanistan, we'd have to go 
through
Pakistan. Would they let us? Not likely. The conquest of 
Pakistan would
have to be first. Will other Muslim nations just stand by? You 
see where
I'm going. The invasion approach is a flirtation with global war 
between
Islam and the West.  And that is Bin Laden's program. That's 
exactly
what he wants and why he did this thing. Read his speeches and
statements. It's all right there. AT the moment, of 
course, "Islam" as
such does not exist. There are Muslims and there are Muslim 
countries,
but no such political entity as Islam. Bin Laden believes that 
if he can
get a war started, he can constitute this entity and he'd be 
running it.
He really believes Islam would beat the west. It might seem 
ridiculous,
but he figures if he can polarize the world into Islam and the 
West,
he's got a billion soldiers. If the West wreaks a holocaust in 
Muslim
lands, that's a billion people with nothing left to lose, even 
better
from Bin Laden's point of view. He's probably wrong about 
winning, in
the end the west would probably overcome-whatever that would 
mean in
such a war; but the war would last for years and millions would 
die, not
just theirs but ours. Who has the belly for that? Bin Laden yes, 
but
anyone else?

I don't have a solution. But I do believe that suffering and 
poverty are
the soil in which terrorism grows. Bin Laden and his cohorts 
want to
bait us into creating more such soil, so they and their kind can
flourish. We can't let him do that. That's my humble opinion.

Now with the latest developments I see more pain and more

I for one don't place blame on a person without evidence. The 
government says that they have overwhelming evidence against 
Osama Bin Laden. I believe my government and will fight for 
their word, but will not stand by it 100% until the evidence is 
made public and authenticated. But we all have to think what 
this conflict will cause. The american people don't understand 
what is to come with the fight against terrorism.

The United States government stated that they are at war with 
terrorism. Their not at war against Afganistan. The US 
government is pursueing to bring all terrorist organizations to 
justice. It's just that Osama Bin Laden happens to be the first 
which they will go after due to his recent terrorist acts in the 
past against the United States.

When Osama Bin Laden has been brought to justice. The United 
States will turn to the next known terrorist organization and 
pursue them. Why do you think that the US government would agree 
not to strike Afganistan if they turned over Bin Laden. The 
United States will bomb and continue to bomb Afganistan until 
Osama Bin Laden is either dead or has been turned over to the 
United States to be tried for his International Crimes. 

Afganistan is being two faced in abiding by International law 
when it comes to war by following the rules of engadement and

International Crime against humanity in the past with his 
previous terrorist attacks. Why did the United States get 
involved with Yugoslavia. Because Slobodan Milosovich commited a

I have no doubt that the United States and it's allies will 
render the Afgan military defenseless within 24 hours. I mourn 
for the loss of lives there since really all of this can be 
avoided with a simple handing over of 1 person. It's better to 
lose just one then to lose thousands. If I could give my life 
for those whose lives were lost due to the terrorist hijackings 
I would.

When this war against terrorism begins the United States people 
need to recognize that it won't be a simple war. Lives will be

I fear this, and hope that it does not happen, but my hearts

distractions that keep us americans from not really knowing the 
full scope of world events. Think about that? Second of all Some 
of you who write about death and extreme overkill should be sent 
back to school or college and learn more about human history.  
Do you think that america has the right to distroy many for the 
one. Wake-up! to destroy evil is not to embrace evil.  to kill 
in the name of death of those who parished wil not accomplish 
anything positive.  shure we can all think that killing children 
or "BBQ them",in words of some, or even killing those who harbor 
the guilty might bring about change, but at what cost? it might 
relieve the pain, anger, and sorrow. But it will only continue 
the cycle of violence. And what will stop it from happening 
again.  In reality, faith is what gets you though the hard 
times.  Acting after thinking gets you to a resolve.  Some of 
you would rather suffer than working hard at finding other 
alternatives to problems. I am not willing to die for some thing 
that is half assed presented to me.  Some of you are angered and 
are just looking for something to relieve the pain, better 
violence than working hard at something like peace.  I mean 
you'd beat your wife, neighbor, kid, or stranger because your 
scared of difference and change.  The ugly head that you need to 
look at is in the mirror.  By nature human beings are aggressive 
and violent.  We distroy shit all the time and all we do is make 
excuses.  For most of you, you are just looking for an excuse to 
sound and act tough. I think you should reevaluate your opinions 
of people and groups cause you don't know shit sitting behind 
your homes and families just doing your thing without thinking 
about what joe shmo is doing or dealing with out side your 
little security blanket. The thing is if your angry about the 
new york thing please take a look at all the fucked up shit

in the brain and start seeing lots of bull shit that we as a

intentions and acts on others should go get an education or go

a developed or undeveloped nation). I'm here to announce that 
the US is not as powerful as some may think. Sure the citizens 
think so, but I'm pretty sure the government, if they ever told 
the truth, do not think so. Americans would be outnumbered in 
the end because the acts that they commit in the next coming 
days/weeks/months/years will force countries from all over the 
world to wage war on US soil, and it will give many valid

won't help. There will be more than a billion people against the 
US. If the US wants to use atomic force, then the world's atomic 
weapons combined are great than that of theirs, and with it the 
Earth would deminish into nothingness and everyone's problems 
would be resolved because everyone would be dead and/or floating 
in gravity-less space. Look at the Roman Empire, it got too big 
for its own good and couldn't control its security, so it 
crumbled and fell. Only the traditional Roman history remains. 
Their minds too were filled with things such as, "Fight for the 
good of Rome!" and "We will conquer all!". So my point is, don't 
invoke a war on the world. Don't make the world mad. Don't fuel

someone put it). But because of fears that hundreds of countries 
will turn against them and the fact that Osama Bin Laden's very 
purpose was for the US the get involved, I don't think the US 
government is courageous enough. For those of you who are 
angered at the recent tragedy (as I am), then let me say that 
there are much better ways to deal with this than the planned 
bombings. The plans have gone under anyway, the US sees no 
benefit in it so they stripped the recent budget planned for 
waging war in the traditional sense to a new budget plan that 
will help other countries target the terrorists (see how much 
they depend on other countries?) and bring more security to the 
very frightened US citizens who won't fly commercial if their 
mother's life depended on it (or their dog's life in some 
strange towns). I'm angered because so many countries have 
offered condolences of the tragedy that costed almost 6,000 
lives, but the US never really offers their condolences to 
countries who have lost about dozens times more than that amount 
in a single bound. The citizens don't even know what goes on in 
the world more than half the time because the US government is 
so good at covering it up from them. Not only that but the 
things that they hear only have a 10% chance of being true 
because they don't want the citizens in their own country to 
turn against the government and encourage a coupe and overthrow 
it, just like what has happened in many third-world countries. 
They have to prevent chaos somehow. Hell, if I were the US I'd 
do the same thing and I'd cover my tracks by lying to my own 
people too, cause its "The American Way" amd we are 
all "patriots" who kill for no reason and stay hush about it. 
And from what I've read on this forum, I see people from 
Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, America, and even your 
own neighbor, the Mexicans, confirm the stupidity the US has 
displayed. You tell other countries that they practice a hermit 
lifestyle, but I bet you they know 100 times more about your 
country than you do about theirs. This message is for those who
